Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Why does the eye seem to be worse ,more swollen, very, very painful after using the sodium chloride on the Drs. advice, 3 times a day after left eye Glaucoma/cataract surgery on 10/3/17? The pain forms a letter C around the side of my face. Thank you
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Pain and swelling around the eye after surgery is suggestive of post-operative infection. Take tablet diclofenac and serratiopeptidase 12 hourly, and continue sodium chloride drops.
Consult ophthalmologist who had done your surgery. Swab culture is required to find out causative organism.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Hiren Hirpara
