What Do Swelling On The Shoulder And A Lump On The Head Indicate?
Hello. I m a 41 yr old female who went to family doctor for answers for a swollen shoulder and lump on back of my head both on left side three months ago. I received an ultrasound revealing lipomas and thyroid nodules on the left side. I now have 2 New lipomas..one on my right shoulder and one on the inside of my right elbow. These bumps always hurt right before they show up and remain sore but not to touch. More muscular pain feeling. Not getting real answers or results. No sense of urgency. This is freaking me out why now and all at once?a
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Regarding the thyroid nodule get ultrasound of neck done yearly to know any change in the size, any calcification, vascularity, if any sudden change in size, painful swelling then ultrasound of neck as early as possible. For the lipoma like swelling, get the final or core biopsy of the swelling to rule out any sort of tissue lesion. Regular follow-up is sufficient for lipoma. if other cause then excision is a must for further evaluation.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
