I just received my reports - What does it mean?/
AEROBIC CULTURE & SENSITIVITY
Specimen : High vaginal swab
Method: Specimen was received in a sterile container was cultured on Blood & MacConkey's Agar
Microscopy:
Gram Stain : Pus cells 03 - 04 / hpf, Gram positive bacilli (resembling of Lactobacilli) No fungal elements seen.

Hi Thanks for asking Gram positive bacilli, lactobacilli are normal bacterial Flora of vagina. Lactobacilli are required to maintain acidic pH of vagina, this is a protective mechanism against invasion by other pathogenic bacteria. The report is normal study except for few pus cells which indicates mild inflammation. There is no need for concern Hope this helps Regards
