What Do The Findings In Uterine Ultrasound Scan Suggest?

Hi. I have a heterogeneous uterine mass measuring 4.5 cm in maximal dimension w/internal cystic components and two small cystic areas in the left ovary. These contain some low level internal echoes but no evidence of discrete septations or mural nodules. What does this mean?

Hi,
Thanks for choosing healthcaremagic.
Heterogenous uterine masses are most commonly fibroids and as you have some internal cystic components it means that the fibroid has undergone some degeneration leading to cystic changes within.
Two small cystic areas in left ovary with debris can be normal follicles depending on their sizes. If they are less than 2 cms they might be normal follicles. If they are more than 2.5 cms, vascularity of the lesion should be seen and they could be hemorrhagic cysts/chocolate cysts. As per your history of small cysts, I think they are normal follicles and less than 2 cms.
Hope it sorts your problem.

Regards,
