What Do The Findings Of Abdominal Ultrasound Suggest?

I got the results of Abdomenal Ultrasound. Results are 1. no significant change in size of Bosniak 2F left lower pole renal cyst with internal septation when compared to baseline 9/25/23012 CT. 21. Mild prostatomegaly with large post void residual (912 mL). What do these findings mean?

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

Bosniak 2F cyst is a minimally complex but requires follow up.
Points to look for are:
1. increased number of septa, minimally thickened or enhancing septa or wall
2. thick Calcification,
3. hyperdense cyst that is > 3 cm diameter, mostly intrarenal (less than 25% of wall visible);

If there is no significant change in size then you are advised to follow up further. There is no need to worry as is appears to be benign.

The prostatomegaly is a different entity and it can be treated by medications.
