Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Can you help me understand an MRI reading which stated: Mild to moderate cervical spondlosis. There is mild acquired central spinal canal stenosis at C5-C6 secondary to mild retrolisthesis and a brroad-based disc osteophyte comples. To evidence of cervical cord compression Mild multilevel neural foraminal encroachment is noted. I didn t have any problems with my neck until I was under general anathesia about a week ago to have my gall bladder removed. The pain in my neck was excruciating--it felt like a herniated disc, which I have in my lower back. I think the tube placed down my throat caused this--what do you think?
The MRI shows that you are having spondylitis (degenerative condition where the discs of your vertebrae wear and tear), narrowing of the spinal canal, and posterior displacement of vertebral body. These are the reasons that you are feeling pain. These processes compress the nerves and cause pain.
Hope I have answered the question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka , General & Family Physician
