Hello,

As the doctor mentioned in the report that you gave minor degenerative disc disease and slight scoliosis.

Let me explain this to you. Human body has a spinal column. The spinal column consist of vertebrae. Between each vertebrae there is a intervertebral disc.

Due to ageing or some factors the disc loses its water content leading to weakness. So when there is loss of water and degenerative changes can occur.

Scoliosis is the lateral curvature of the spine. This happens when there is some pathology to the intervertebral disc or may be idiopathic where we do not know the actual cause of it.

When there is scoliosis there is a high possibility of the disc to degenerate due to abnormal stress and strain applied over it.

For you, the level mentioned is T11-T12. That means is in the thoracic region.

Now whether the disc is leading to any nerve root compression we are unable to find out from outside. So an MRI or a CT scan might be advised by the examining physician.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
