What Do The Following Blood Test Reports Indicate?
I recently had a work related blood test in Germany. When I received the results, i was told I had passed, so nobody took me through them. I have now realised myself there were a number of results which were outside normal parameters. Can you tell me if I should be worried about them? I will write them below…. Clinical: Y-GT 42 SGPT/ALT 27 Creatinin 1.2 Glucose Na-F-Plasma 109 Haematology: Leuko 6.2 *Erythro 4.44!!* Hb 15.0 *Hkt 53.4!!* *MCV 120.3!!* *MCH 33.8!!* *MCHC 28.1!!* *EVB 18.0!!* *Thrombo 148!!* The MCV seems particularly high to me….. I would be grateful for any advice. Best wishes
MCV is raised in megaloblastic anemia. This is when there is low vitamin B12 or folic acid levels in the body. Low vitamin b12 would also present with numbness and tingling in the body as well.
If you are having any numbness or tingling, please consider seeing a doctor to get prescription of vitamin B12 supplements.
In case a folic acid deficiency is seen, it would be a good idea to take folic acid tablets or supplements.
