Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Do The Following Chest X-ray Reports Indicate?
x-ray examination of the chest Findings: 1- Accentuated bilateral basal bronchovascular markings, otherwise clear both lung fields and costo-diaphragmatic recesses 2- Enlarged cardiothoracic ratio, for echocardiography correlation what does this mean ? thanks
A chest x ray can take a look at the lungs and heart as well as the ribs.
Increased bronchovascular markings may indicate that there was a recent infection that has likely resolved since it states that the lung fields are clear.
It indicates that the heart is enlarged but this needs to be confirmed by an echo which is mentioned in the report.
I hope this helps
