Hello Narinder,
Thank you for your question and welcome to Healthcare Magic. I read your query and I understand your questions.
The first questions that comes in my mind after viewing this lab report is do you drink? What is your bilirubin level? Your liver
blood test indicates that you have an inflammation of your liver, or differently called hepatitis. In response to any
hepatocellular injury your liver enzymes increase due to the destruction of your liver cells which spill their enzymes into the blood.
When
alkaline phosphatase and GGT are elevated, there is a problem with bile flow, which could be due to a problem in the liver, the
gall bladder or the tubes connecting them.
When the bile ducts are blocked (usually by gallstones, scars from previous gallstones or surgery, or by cancers), ALP and bilirubin may be increased much more than AST or ALT as in your case.
With such a presentation I would recommend you to have an abdominal ultrasound, which uses sound waves to image and make a picture of the intra-abdominal organs including the liver and the
gallbladder.
Hope I answered to your question. For further concerns or follow up wuestions don't hesitate to write again.
Kind Regards,
Dr. Ina
