Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Dear Doctor, I have just turned 60. I had a general medical check in January and the report says prostrate: 42mmx 46mmx48mm and approx wt= 50g residue after void is stated as 50ml. There is no problem while urinating except sometimes I need to make a slight milking motion at the region of the prostrate toward the end of micturation. How worried should I be and what can be done?Pl advise.
As age advances, there is enlargement of prostate gland. I suggest you to get serum levels of PSA. PSA levels to increase with benign or malignant enlargement of the prostate or in case of inflammation.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
