Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi doc, I m 27yrs old guy from India. I had fever with chills for two days n I got tests done. It showed high levels of sgpt 293. Doc said it s jaundice. Then after 1 week it cake 193. Now its 43. Is there anything to worry about ? Can I resume to drink moderately ahead ?
Welcome at HCM i have gone through your query and being your physician I completely understand your health concerns.... Raised sgpt levels with jaundice mean something wrong with the liver. In my opinion you had acute hepatitis. Have your doctor investigated about the cause of it. ? Whether is HAV , HEV or HBV.....! ?? Normalized levels of sgpt are assuring. You should take rest and consume regular healthy food. Please look into your lab reports and try to find out the cause for it. As far as alcohol intake is concerned, it is toxic to liver . you better avoid it since already you have got acute hepatitis..... Hope your query is adequately addressed Regards Dr saad sultan
