What Do These Biopsy Test Results Post Colonoscopy Indicate?

I had my first colonoscopy at age 55 last week. Three concerns: Erosion in terminal ileum (biopsy) Erythema in the left colon between 30. - 40 cms and distal rectum (biopsy) Internal hemorrhoids I don t know if this could be from an infection or something to worry about.

Hello,

The given biopsy suggestive of local inflammation secondary to haemorrhoids (piles) only. There is no cancerous growth or tumors detected in the biopsy. Nothing much to worry. You can consult a general surgeon for further evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
