What Do These Following BUN And Creatinine Levels Indicate?

Went in for muscle pains and chest aches today. Was told by doctor today I have acute kidney injury? My BUN is 29 and CREATININE is 2.04. I have been telling them my muscles are real sore from a Crestor statin they have me on. Should I be stopping this Statin RIGHT NOW until further word from the extra labs I did? I have never had any kidney problems EVER! Very concerned that some doctors do not know the health effects this Statin causes. Thanks

Hi,

First of all it's sad to know what you had been going through lately.

Based on the history you have shared, you should immediately stop statin and seek medical advice with fresh renal function as well as CPK and LDH levels.

Rhabdomyolysis because of statin is one of the severe side effects and should be monitored for that.

Intravenous hydration and indoor monitoring after admission should be sought to save kidneys as soon as possible. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
