What Do These Following Lab Reports Indicate?

Hi Doctor. Got my lab results and am worried about my prostate and my Cholestrol. I am a 38 year old Guy, middle eastern living in Canada. Here is part of the results and I need to know if I should worry. Did a bit of research to educate myself, but need your help. Vitamin B12: 212, Ferritin: 53, Cholesterol:5.21. Thanks,

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I have read your description and understand your concern.
The following things can be inferred from the laboratory values you have furnished.
1. Cholesterol of 5.21 mmol/L (= 201 mg/dl) is slightly higher than normal.
2. Ferritin of 53 ng/ml is within normal range.
3. Vitamin B12 levels of 212 pg/mlis towards lower limit of normal as less than 200 pg/ml is a sign of a vitamin B12 deficiency.
Since your cholesterol is slightly higher, you need to bring it down by means of dieting and regular exercise.
Also, it would be advisable to consume foods rich in Vitamin B12 and supplement Vitamin B12 by means of its intake in the form of capsule or injection.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
