What Do These Liver Function Test Results Indicate?

I m concerned with BUN/CREATININE level 9 and GLUCOSE level 102 and FERRITIN level 296.7 and AST level 79 and ALT level 68. I m staying nauseated all day and have pain on my right side. I have liver disease, Alpha 1-Antitrypsin deficiency. But don t understand why the 1st 3 levels are as high as they are and wondering if they could be why I m so nauseated.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
The following could be inferred based on the values you have posted:
1. BUN/Creatinine, Glucose and Ferritin levels are normal.
2. AST with 79 U/L and ALT with 68 U/L shows a two fold increase compared to normal.
It is due to hepatocellular dysfunction due to alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency. Liver cell dysfunction could be associated with felling of nausea and vomiting.
Kindly consult Physician for appropriate management.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
