What Do These Pelvic Ultrasound Findings Indicate?
Hello... Can someone please explain my pelvic ultrasound findings below? My ultrasound result: COMPARISON: 11/22/2013 CLINICAL HISTORY: Followup fibroids and pelvic pain FINDINGS: Multiple longitudinal and transverse real-time sonographic images of the pelvis were obtained transabdominally and transvaginally. 1.2 x 1.2 x 1.5 cm ill-defined echogenic region along the posterior aspect of the uterus adjacent to the endometrial stripe is unchanged. 1.2 x 1.2 x 1.3 cm ovoid hypoechoic structure along the aspect of the uterine fundus consistent with a fibroid that is unchanged. 6 mm fibroid also noted along the right aspect uterine fundus. The uterus measures 9.2 x 4.8 x 5.7 cm. The endometrial stripe is within normal limits measuring 5 mm. The ovaries appear normal bilaterally. The right and left ovaries measure 1.1 x 2.7 x 1.5 cm and 1.6 x 2.6 x 1.7 cm, respectively. 4.1 x 1.2 x 1.1 cm tubular hypoechoic structure along the right adnexa. Punctate echogenic focus in the left ovary may represent a nonspecific calcification. No free fluid. No evidence for torsion. Doppler interrogation with color and pulse wave (spectral) Doppler demonstrates arterial and venous flow in the ovaries bilaterally. Impression IMPRESSION: 1. Small uterine fibroids. 2. 1.2 x 1.2 x 1.5 cm region of hyperechogenicity along the fundus of the uterus adjacent to the endometrial stripe is unchanged and can be seen in the setting of adenomyosis. 3. Tubular hypoechoic structure along the right adnexa may represent hydrosalpinx.
