What Do These Test Results From GFR And Creatine Indicate?

I am 51 years old and have stage 4 kidney disease. I have polycystic kidney and liver disease. My GFR is now 16, My BUN is 32 and my Creatine is 3.2. I have an apt with St. Vincent hospital in Indianapolis, In June 3, 2015 to see if I qualify for a kidney transplant. Is there ANYTHING I CAN DO to slow the progression? Are there any herbs to take or special diet or will drinking a lot of water help? I am desperate for any help or suggestions. I sincerely thank you.FORGET IT!!! I THOUGHT THIS WAS A GENUINE CARING SITE INSTEAD OF SOME CRAP ABOUT HAVING TO PAY FOR AN ANSWER FOR SOMEONE THAT HAS A SERIOUS DISEASE.

Hello,

Your reports of GFR 16,serum creatinine 3.2and blood urea 32 indicate fulminant renal failure. As the GFR is between 15-29, yours is stage 4 kidney failure. Please restrict water intake. Do not use any herbs or any other medications not prescribed by your physician. Your doctor might consider dialysis if your water retention is very high. Diet which is low in salt is to be preferred. Daily sodium must not exceed 2300mg / day.

Do regular exercise. Follow strict control of blood pressure and sugar levels. Restrict potassium rich foods. Adequate protein intake is necessary to reduce albuminuria. Avoidance of smoking and avoidance of phosphorus rich foods. Medical therapy with ACE inhibitors may be started.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
