What Do Tingling And Burning Sensation In The Body Indicate?
Hello, I ve had pins and needles sensations along with burning sensations and twitches all over my body. Last month, I went to get my blood tests and I found out I had vitamin d deficiency which was a 9. It was very low. So now I have an appt for a neurologist soon. I m also getting a follow up for an MRI to make sure there isn t anything else going on in my body. I am a female and I am only 19 yrs old. Can these symptoms be from vitamin d deficiency? I ve been worrying.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Vitamin D level is undoubtedly low. You need to take Vitamin D supplements, which is available in sachets, to be taken once a week. However, tingling and burning sensation what you are complaining of is not solely due to Vitamin D deficiency. It could be due to multivitamin and mineral such as calcium and iron deficiency. Hence, along with Vitamin D, take multivitamin and multimineral supplements. Also consume healthy food rich in vitamin and minerals. Gradually, you will feel better and be back to normal.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ashakiran S.
