What Do Tiny Pimple Like Bumps On The Fingertips Indicate?
Over the course of several years, i get tiny white pimple like bumps on the tip of my little finger. Its very painful and that area gets inflamed and red. It also feels warm to the touch. It seemed to be limited to my little finger, until yesterday when i got it on the palm of my hand, but sort of below my little finger. My family doctor doesn t seem to know what it is. It does go away but it bothers me not knowing what s causing it. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thank you
While this is difficult to say for sure without seeing the lesion, but recurrent painful pimples on fingers may be herpetic whitlow. This is a viral infection z typically the herpes.
The finger pulp is inflamed, and there may be whitish vesicles. They resolve itself in days to week. And reoccur.
Treatment is with anti viral drugs. So discuss this with your doctor this time when the lesion occur of it could be herpetic whitlow.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Mahboob Ur Rahman , General & Family Physician
