What Do Tiny Red Bumps On The Legs And Arms Indicate?

Hello Doctor Rynne, I have tiny red bumps that started on my leg a few days ago and now I have them on both of my arms. The ones on my leg have big red marks around them. I initially thought something bit me a few days ago, but today different bumps appeared. Can you help?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Red bumps on the arms and legs are indicative of skin allergy. You can take non-sedating antihistamines. It should go away.

Apply hydrocortisone cream on the area affected after taking a shower & patting yourself dry.

However, Keratosis Pilaris manifests such symptoms. Your treating doctor may take some skin patch for biopsy to confirm it. Vitamin A deficiency may cause it. Take food rich in vitamin A.

You can apply Cetaphil lotion or Tritinoin cream in the area affected.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Nupur K, General & Family Physician
