What Do Tiny, Ulcer Like Blemishes On Mons Pubis Suggest?

Hi Doctor, On my mons pubis, I have a crater like blemish. Last week I found it and thought it was a pimple so I made the mistake of popping it. A day later it didn t settle like pimples normally do after popped but rather has a crater like hole with the inside being dark. It s like a tiny ulcer like blemish. I was alarmed because it hasn t gone away. I also put on Neosporin. Today (about 8-10 days later) I just found 3 very tiny, premature blemishes surrounding it. Today I used my face-acne washing pads and wiped the area in hopes of reducing it. I m very alarmed and hope it isn t an STD. I m sexually active with one partner who doesn t have any record of an STD. Any suggestions? Thanks!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
From history it seems that you might be having ingrown hair follicle and due to popping boil there is aggravation of problem with spreading infection, cellulitis and pain.
You might require one course of antibiotic like Amoxicilin for 3-5 days.
Clean the part with warm water and apply Neosporin cream.Keep local hygiene clean and dry.
Ok and take care.
