Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have blisters on the sides of my tongue, inside cheeks and on back of throat. Headache behind my eyes and forehead and swelling in face and hands. I think it is associated with wheat and or sugar. Symptoms seems to go away when I avoid processed foods wheat and sugar) and return when I eat bad but I'm not really sure what is going on
It looks like blisters on tongue, inner cheeks and back of throat can be due to eruption of canker sores while it can also be due to allergic reaction, viral infection and nutritional deficiency or iron and vitamin B12..
In case if it occurs specifically after eating wheat and sugar then can be related to some food intolerance or gluten intolerance..
So first of all consult an Emergency room and get evaluated and a clinical examination and blood test can be done to rule out the exact cause so that appropriate treatment can be done..
For now avoid the foods that cause the problem. To reduce pain you can gargle with Lidocaine containing mouthwash. You should do soda bi carb gargles. Take Vitamin B complex supplements.. Avoid spicy and irritant foods. Suck ice pops and do cool water rinses..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
