What Do Weight Loss And Lack Of Strength In Arm Indicate?

I am a 70 year old male and have been losing weight and gradually losing most of my strength and capability in my left arm and hand. I even have a problem now just lifting my left arm. I haven t done any cardio workouts (swimming mostly} in about 2 years. I recently joined the YMCA and tried to swim laps with very little success. I was a swimmer for Clemson back in the 60s. What can be the cause? I don t have $15 to pay for this advise. Called the 718 # and had no success.

Hi,

It can be due to some lesion which is causing weight loss and neuropathy.

You need to visit ER for complete evaluation and accordingly you would be treated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. SOHEEL HUSSAIN ZARGAR, Dentist
