My granddaughter aged 18 has been left with quite significant white patches on her skin following 6 weeks of ptyriasis rosea. (Couple of patches are about the size of a10cent piece). Sorry hit enter too soon - what can she use? A Steroid cream or any other suggestions. Will the patches fade or has the melanin been destroyed

The picture of rash give much better idea there are two main possibilities one is pityriasis rosea which occur due to fungal infection and treatment is azole creams other one is as you said vitiligo a melanin problem which is very hard to get rid of.
