What Do You Mean By Complex Ovarian Cyst In Left Adnexa And What Should Be Done For That?

Dr, My wife was getting pain during the period course recently she had bleeding after one week of period when we contacted doctor and got the reports of USG whole abdomen, in the report it is mentioned "

" that Left ovary measures ~ 24 x 47 mm and shows a complex ovarian cyst measruing ~ 21 x 30 mm with fine internal septation and echoes.



No evidence of ascites or pleural effusion seen.



IMPRESSION:



Complex ovarian cyst in the left adnexa.



- Suggested clinical correlation.



What does it mean. Please suggest what to do.

Hello dear,
mostly the cyst with internal septations and echoes suggests a hemorrhagic cyst, which is quite common among the females in menstruating age group.
Mostly these cysts resolve on their own and need no treatment. Follow up scan is advised after 3 months.
If in case there is more pain or bleeding, it is advisable to consult to a gynecologist.
