Good evening we have ababy 1month age on bottle feeding, he is ok but because last yr his brother died in 1st month of life because of unknown cause his doctor asked to do Tyrosin chromatography the result is 319Mmol/l , please what should be done for the baby & what about breast feeding. thanks
Hi, Thank you for asking question on health care magic. The tyrosine chromatography is done to detect Phenyle ketonuria an inborn error of metabolism. The value seems to be normal. If phenylketonuria is suspected milk free from phenyle alanine (Lophenolac) is advised. Breast milk contains phenylealanine. Hope this answer will serve your purpose Please feel free to ask any more queries if required Take care Dr.M.V.Subrahmanyam MD;DCH Associate professor of pediatrics
