What Do You Suggest For Having Injury Thrice In Right Shoulder When Playing Basketball?
my 15 yr old son plays basketball and this is the 3rd time he has injured his right shoulder while playing. it seems to happen when he fights for the ball or blocks a shot. he is bothered by it so much that he cannot practice or play until a a week or so has elapsed where it feels better, but then he injures it again after playing another couple games. what do you suggest? thanks.
I wish you had described the nature of injury. The commonest cause of injury in the same should is due to either, an unstable shoulder joint; or, a recurrent dislocation of shoulder joint, which occurs as a result of damage to the tissues forming the joint, which become lax or rupture.
The exact cause can be ascertained by MRI of the affected shoulder joint. The corrective treatment would depend on MRI findings.
Consult your doctor and apprise him of my opinion. I am certain that he will agree with me, order required tests, and- based on the reports- will prescribe suitable/modified treatment as advised.
