What Do You Suggest For Heavy Bleeding With Period Pain After Endometial Ablation?
hi, i have suffered from heavy bleeding and bad period pain since I got them. I am 43 now have one child 9 year old. i had endometial ablation done two years back. This reduced the bleeding a lot but still get excrutiating pain. The pain is still there. I period has usaully been very regular but now I am getting a period every 15 days and will lot of pain. Please advise
Hello Thanks for writing to us with your health concern. Please have thorough evaluation for irregular cycles. I suspect that you must be having endometriosis . This is why inspite of the ablation your pain has not been relieved. Please have a pelvic transvaginal ultrasound scan, also hormonal levels - FSH, LH, TSH, Prolactin. Also,you could be having endometrial hyperplasia, this means that the ablative procedure would have failed. PLease have a thorough gynaecological examination. Sometimes, if endometrial ablation does not help, hysterectomy is the only logical option. Also, these could be perimenopausal period changes , in which case, hormonal levels will differentiate the condition. Also make sure you are not on any blood thinners. All the best. Take care.
