What Doe Hyper Aerated Lungs On An X-ray Report Suggest?
I had a chest X-ray that showed no abnormalities except hyper aerated lungs. I have not history if respiratory or pulmonary problems and no wheezes, cough or dyspnea on exertion. I have no dx of COPD. Is this something to be concerned about. I had a repeat X-ray and am awaiting the results but am concerned because the radiologist that read my first X-ray said I have COPD without any significant hx or mitigating factors to substantiate this dx.
Hyperaeration lung is suggestive of chronic obstructive lung disease. But repeat x-ray and wait for its results.
If Hyperaeration present, then pulmonary function test can be done for further work up. According to pulmonary function test further comment can be given. Consult the pulmonologist for examination.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
