I am trying to get clarification on what these things mean. The report states, L3–4: Diffuse bulging annulus moderate posterior facet arthropathy mild spinal stenosis are noted at the L3-4 level L4-5: moderate posterior facet arthropathies noted at L4-5 level L5-S1: mild posterior facet arthropathies noted at the L5-S1 level Impression: degenerative disc disease. The dominant finding is at the L3-4 level where there is bulging annulus posterior facet arthropathy and mild spinal stenosis as discussed above.
Findings suggests multi-level mild degenerative changes in lumbo-sacral spine. Degenerative changes are generally age related findings. It is due to chronic stress on annulus fibrosis.
At L3-4 level there is diffuse disc bulge with facet(bony joint in between two vertebra) arthropathy.Disc bulge is also causing mild central canal stenosis.
At L4-5 and L5-S1 level, there are also mild to moderate facet arthropathy.
Majority of degenerative disc disease patients are benefited by conservative treatment in the form of physiotherapy, analgesics and muscle relaxants. Surgery is advised in non responding cases. Physiotherapy helps in strengthening of paraspinal muscles and it prevents further changes.
Since you have only mild findings, most likely you will need physiotherapy only.
