Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hello doctor. Could I ask you. I got chest x ray done recently. My family got chest infection so I decided to check myself as well. The result says: -Bilateral prominent bronchovascular markings. -Both costophrenic angles are clear. -Cardiac shadow is within normal limits of size and configuration. Should I visit Lungs specialist because of the markings mentioned or I should visit General doctor and ask for antibiotics? Are bronchovascular markings dangerous, is it related to pneumonya, cancer or tub?
Hi and thanks for your query. I appreciate your concern for the Chest X ray findings.
I have gone through the x ray findings given in your case, I am of the opinion that prominent bilateral bronchovascular markings are suggestive of inflammation of the air ways (bronchitis) but due to not pneumonia, TB or cancer hence it is not dangerous.
You may consult a general physician for clinical correlation (chest examination) and you may need a course appropriate antibiotic and cough medication (mucolytic) if you have a productive cough.
Hope I could answer your query.
