What Does the following sonography Result Indicate?
Hello doctor.my name is kinjal.I want to consult my 2nd sonography report. A single intrauternine gestational sac containing a single live fetus with gestational. -nuchal translucency measures around 1.5 mm(normal upper limit is up to 3.0 mm) -nasal bone echo is well seen -liquor is adequate -early placental location is posterior -internal is is closed Can I know that everything is going good or not? I could not understand that what was the meaning of all above sentence...and I have one question is triple marker test is good?can I know the 100% sure result of baby with the help of triple marker test...thanks...
Hello. Congrats on your pregnancy. Your sonography report shows a single sac with a single baby, and placenta located on posterior side,with closed mouth of uterus-- all ok. Various parameters like nasal bone and nuchal translucency, are visualised and measured to detect some genetic diseases etc. Your scan report findings are all normal,not to worry. The triple marker test is a blood test (mothers),which gives a probablity of the baby having certain genetic disorders/birth defects. It will give u a likelihood and is not a 100% diagnostic test. It is a simple blood test and requires no preparation. So you may consult your gynecologist and go for it. Hope this helps..All the best.
