Hi Dr Rynne, My girlfriend has recently had a pelvic ultrasound due to abdominal pain. It has been stated that: the right ovary has a volume of 3.3cc. The left a volume of 8.1cc. It then states that normal subsubcentimeter follicular cysts are visualised in both ovaries. I would like to know are these cysts normal and can they make pregnancy difficult.
1.According to the report - the both ovaries are with in limits in measurement. 2.There is little variation in the volume - but it can be seen due to the follicle cysts and the day of the cycle. 3.These cysts are normally seen which will increase in size as they start producing egg cells. 4. Once these follicle ruptures - there are chances of getting pregnancy. 5. There is a entity called poly-cystic ovarian disease where the pregnancy can be difficult - but the report does not give all the features of poly-cystic ovarian disease ( like bulky ovary with central stroma).
Good luck. Hope i have answered your query, any thing to ask ? do not hesitate to ask. http://doctor.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-ganesh/62888
