What Does this blood Test Result Mean?

I had blood work done this week and my lymphocyte count is .5…I have had a cold for about 12 days, and I did have radiation about two years ago for 7 weeks for prostate cancer….there is a history of lymphoma in my family…my father died from lymphoma 10 years ago. Could any of these facts explain the lymphocyte reading of .5 ? Thanks and best regards.

Hello,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.

Lymphocyte count of 5 % is never normal and this indicates toward the lymphocytopenia which can occur in variety of conditions including lymphoma.

In my opinion there is need for further work up such as peripheral blood smear and repeat blood count.

I hope this helps you.
Thanks and regards.
