I am taking Rosuvastatin 20mg daily in the evening. Yesterday I checked my Lipid profile and the results were Total cholesterol 105 mg/dL, LDL 54 mg/dL, HDL 31 mg/dL and Triglycerides 101 mg/dL. It seems very low. Whether I can take alternate days Rsuvastatin 20mg and 10mg Joseph
Hii! welcome to HCM! Rosuvastatin is available in four doses: 5 mg, 10 mg, 20 mg, and 40 mg.The usual starting dose is 10–20 mg once daily. On follow-up visits, dosage is adjusted depending on LDL levels. The current guidelines now recommend high-dose statins ( rosuvastatin 20-40 mg daily) for those with clinical evidence of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease or LDL >190 mg/dL, Since your LDL is 54mg/dl so your dosage can be safely reduced.Take care!
