What Does this microscopic Examination Test Result Mean?
Microscopic Examination: Multiple smears studied are cellular and show polymorphous population of lymphoid cells ranging from mature lymphocytes to transformed immunoblasts, centroblasts and centrocytes. Good number of plasma cells with pale histiocytes and endothelial cells seen. Few cells show bipolar mitosis and fibrous tissue fragments. The background is haemorrhagic. No atypical cells seen in the smears studied. IMPRESSION Reactive lymphadenitis.

The given lymph node biopsy shows only features of reactive changes secondary to infection or inflammation.
There is no features suggestive or malignancy( cancerous change) or tuberculosis which are two major cause for lymph node enlargement.
