Hi Doctor, my mother had done a Pap smear yesterday and the result says mild inflammation composed of polymorphism cytolysed cells. The test was done as she was complaining of abdominal pain near the naval left side. She is also having prolapsed uterus and is also diabetic. She is 56 years old. Her height must be around 4 feet 6 inches and weight around 62 kgs. Wanted to know what does the results indicate. The doctors have advised hysterectomy.
Hi, dear. I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern. Your pap smear report suggest only inflammation. No evidence of malignancy in this report. So no need to go for hysterectomy directly. You should go for repeat pap smear examination. Then take treatment accordingly.
