Hello

Your semen analysis findings may indicate semen infection.

There are excess pus cells in semen.
You may need investigations like routine hemogram, random blood sugar, semen culture and sensitivity, ultrasound of scrotum.
You may need to take antibiotics.

Motility is normal.Normally it should be at least 55 %.Your findings suggests overall 70 % motility,so it is normal.

Sperm count is also normal.Normally it should be at least 20 millions/ml.

Other findings like colour, volume, liquefaction time are normal.

Get well soon.
Take Care

Pathologist and Microbiologist Dr. Shailja Puri's  Response
Hello and welcome to HCM,
The interpretation of semen analysis is as follows:
The physical characters - volume, color, pH and liquefaction time are all within range.
Normal sperm count should be 15 million / ml.
In your case the sperm count is 46 million / ml which is within range.
At-least 40% of sperms should show progressive motility.
In your report, 70% sperms show progressive motility which is a normal finding.
No comment is made about sperm morphology.
At-least 50% sperms should show normal morphology.
Presence of 4-6 pus cells/ hpf indicates presence of infection in the reproductive or urinary tract.
I suggest you to get urine examination to rule out urinary tract infection.
All semen parameters mentioned by you are within normal range and suggests that you can father a child.

Thanks and take care
Dr Shailja Puri
