THYROID ULTRASOUND: Right lobe of the thyroid measures 5.8 X 1.7 X 2 cm in size with normal vascular flow and no masses. The left lobe of the thyroid measures 4.7 X 1.5 X 2 cm in size with normal vascular flow and nausea masses identified. There is homogeneous consistency of each lobe of the thyroid. The thyroid isthmus is 3 mm. In the area of concern there is a soft tissue nodule that measures 7 X 6 X 3 mm in size in the left cervical region. It is probably a slightly enlarged lymph node. It is not associated with the thyroid gland. IMPRESSION: 1) Thyroid gland upper limits of normal in size with no thyroid masses or nodules identified. 2) Small 7 X 6 X 3 mm nodule in the anterior left cervical region is probably a left lymph node. This is not particularly well identified in relation to the other structures in the area. 3) CT scan of the neck might be a worthwhile additional test.
