What Does BP Of 147/107 Indicate?
My blood pressure is 147/107. This is the highest I had experienced over this past stormy month. My normal is usually in the 117/77. I was taking care of my mom who passed away on the 21st, had to travel for her burial, and have the financial load for the expenses. This after I lost my husband to cancer last year. Today I have been experiencing significant tooth ache in a molar I had work done in the past. I took two over the counter Aleves. Should I go to the ER?

Hello,
It sounds like she experiences a lot of stress after losing her mom and husband.147/107 is high but this is one-off reading.
Needs to do bp reading morning afternoon and night standing sitting and lying for three days in a row.
While bp 147/107 is not ideal I do not want too low bp causing a traumatic fall which is far more dangerous.
With her bp 147/107 adjust her salt and fluid intake sometimes is all she needs plus stress counseling.
With her molar toothache needs a dental care asap. If potential dental abscess developing prescribe Flagyl 200mg tds or Amoxil 500mg tds still send her to dental hospital-free treatment.
