What Does CMIA Index Value Indicate?
Hello doc....what does the index value in cmia actually mean...does it mean the titres of antibodies...n what is the reason for the fluctuating indices in the same person over different periods?i got a value of 0.13...what is importance of values less than 1?

CMIA (chemiluminescent microparticle immunoassay) - In this method they estimate the antibodies of HIV. It may take more than 6 weeks to get results or produce antibodies.Before 6-8 weeks, the index may be less than 1. In case it may be above 1 then you have to confirm it by further evaluation. In case of a doubtful condition, you may repeat it after 12 weeks.
