What Does ESR - 1st Hour 60 And 2nd Hour 115 Indicate?
My relative is 70 years old. She had been having fever, cough and cold for a prolonged period of about one and half months, temperature only in the evening - say around 99.4 F and fatigue. Now no such symptom is there. She feels normal. But , last month her ESR was 1st hour - 115 and 2nd hour 135. After about a month and a half, now, her ESR shows - 1st hour 60 and 2nd hour 115. What does this indicate.
Hi! Welcome to HCM! ESR is a simple, non-specific test that is used to detect inflammation associated with conditions such as infections, cancers, and autoimmune diseases. ESR is non-specific, an elevated result indicated the presence of inflammation which has now reduced, but not the site or cause .Noting the symptoms tuberculosis must be ruled out. Hope this helps! Take care!
