Hi, I have been told by my dr to take 20mg prednisine for 5 days then 15 for 5 days and then 10 mg till she decides what next based on my blood test results. 1st ESR 60, 2nd ESR 87, 3rd ESR 105 then a call from her yesterday to say go uo to 80mg prednisone a day for 2 weeks. I am due to have another test early next week and dr review???

Thus, there is presence of an autoimmune disease. The ESR should be monitored regularly. Fall in ESR over time suggests improvement or control of the underlying disease.
