Hi sir, MY Fother has a kidney transplant patient. Kidney transplant done on 5th June 2014. Today admit for fit s. Doctor take a MRI scan and finding,, Edema noted in the left fronto parietal area....What happened this problem sir please answer sir....

Hi, Thanks for asking. Based on your clinical history and query, my opinion is as follows: 1. Electrolyte imbalance is probably present which has led to fits. 2. Possibly hyponatremia is present. Serum sodium and potassium evaluation is necessary. 3. Hyponatremia can lead to cerebral edema. 4. Associated diarrhoea or renal problem with excessive diuretics could be a cause. Further history is essential for full evaluation.
