What Does HVS Report As Pus Cells With Moderate Growth Of Candida Albicans Suggest?

Hi,

Please i will like you to explain this result to me and also to prescribe adequate medication.

HVS REPORT

Pus cells 0-2/hpf

Epithelia cells H

Red blood cells Nil

no T. Vaginalis seen

Yeast cells H

Culture of yielded moderate growth of candida albicans

Hello and welcome to HCM,

The interpretation of vaginal swab report is as follows:
The vaginal swab reveales presence of pus cells and the culture shows growth of candida or fungal infection.
Presence of pus cells indicates presence of infection.
Thus, treatment with anti-fungal drugs in needed to clear the fungal infection.

Consult your gynecologist with reports for prescription of anti-fungal drugs.
After completing a course of anti-fungal drugs, a repeat vaginal smear should be done to check that the infection is clear.
