Hello and welcome to HCM,
Ig G stands for immunoglobulin G.
Infections lead to activation of host's immune response.
Immune response causes increase in immunoglobulin M levels (Ig M).
Ig M suggests a recent infection.
Ig M is replaced by Ig G as the infection is controlled or treated.
Ig G indicates remote infection.
These immunoglobulins can be elevated in any infection and not only sexually transmitted diseases.

Thanks and take care
