I had already used minscalp 10+.and now going with minscalp 10,,within few weeks will start using minscalp 5 as per the advice of my physician.im under his treatmet for last 18 months, but i dont get any considerable results. Is this treatment is this much lengthy????can i get any result after minscalp 5????
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Minscalp contains minoxidil as the ingredient. 5% and 10% are only variations in the strengths. It is known to stimulate hair growth by causing primarily vasodilatation of the skin. Generally, hair fall would stop with its use by 4 to 6 months time. New hair growth would start by about 10 months and it takes its effect to be appreciated by 1 year. The medication needs to be used for 3 to 5 years regularly to sustain the effects obtained. However, if the hair follicles are blocked or destroyed completely, use of minoxidil would not bring about the desired effect. Hence, it would be better to consider hair transplantation in such circumstances. Kindly consult Dermatologist in this regard for proper evaluation and management as it seems that its use for 18 months does not seem to bring the desired positive effects with you. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
