I received my monthly lab work report and am concerned about the PAAC(x10E3/uL) informaiton in the report for platelets. I do not understand what PAAC could mean. Does anyone have any idea? I m a bit concerned because my Platelets are dropping over the past few months: 221 Nov, 154 Dec, 136 Jan. Thank you!

Hi thanks for contacting HCM...

For adequate function of hemostatsis system platelet should function normally apart from number....

If platelet receptor antigens and functioning normally then they can form plug and form hemostatic plug....

So your doctor want to rule out platelet function disorders....
Few example are bernad soulier syndrome and glanzmen thrombosthenia....

So you have advised to do test for platelet function..

Discuss it with your treating doctor for detail....

Take care....
