What Does Volume -3.0 Ml , Viscosity -normal Indicate?
Hi Doctor,
This is my sperm analysis report.
Volume -3.0 ml , viscosity -normal, reaction - alkaline,
Active motile -40%, non motile -50%, sluggish motile -10%
total spermatozoa- 30.2 millions/cumm
Normal forms - 80%
Abnormal forms -20%
Pus cells -4-6/hpf
Is it normal?

Thanks for writing to HCM
Your semen analysis report suggests infection .
Infection is indicated by the presence of pus cells in semen.Normally there shouldn't be any pus cells in semen.
Infection may be due to prostatitis,UTI etc.
You need antibiotics for infection.
You need few more investigation like routine hemogram,Semen culture and sensitivity,RBS,Ultrasound of pelvis should be done.Trans rectal sonography of prostate can be done if needed.
Proper antibiotics should be prescribed after culture and sensitivity report.
Other findings like sperm count,motility and morphology are within normal limit.
